Frequently Asked Questions
Whenever possible, we keep the production local. Most of our print production is done locally and in the case of using vendors we use local whenever possible.
Within reason, we focus on going local over saving a few bucks. Because Hawaii is a small chain of islands, we simply do not have some of the manufacturing capabilities of other locales, so some of our specialty products do come from other places. This will be true of any other company in Hawaii though. Rest assured, if we aren’t sourcing locally for a specific product, no one else in Hawaii will be either!
Because we focus primarily on B2B (business to business), we do not have self-service machines or walk in type consultation available. To be most cost efficient, we do not maintain a storefront to accommodate customer visits, because this setup has a high overhead. Instead, we meet all our customers for consultation in a location of their choosing and deliver all finished products directly.
However, if you seek more traditional service, we want you to find the best place for the job. So in the Spirit of Aloha, please reach out anyways. If we are not the best place to help you, we will put you in touch with the place that is. We have extensive contacts in Honolulu to make sure you get the help you need for your project.
Not necessarily. Because we have wholesale level accounts with the vendors and long relationships, we are able to deal in volume to negotiate a lower price. The price we can offer you even when using a 3rd party vendor is often lower than if you went directly to the vendor. This is especially true when you are only getting a specialty order one time, like for an event.
If you are going to deal in volume, or frequently do the same job, then it might be worth it to set up wholesale accounts with suppliers, but for most businesses, it is less hassle to let us provide the products. It saves money and more importantly, the time of having to search around for the right product at the right price.
While we focus on primarily medium-sized businesses, which usually have a graphic designer on staff, we are pleased to inform our customers that we do have a graphic designer on staff.
Whether it’s designing something from scratch, or adding some minor tweaks to a ready-made design, we have you covered.
We’re not big on advertising or being active on social media. Businesses serving 100s of customers a day use such tools because they are more suitable for high volume. In the specific case of Yelp, we determined that it wasn’t an appropriate marketing paradigm for us. This was after we were forced to create a page to even talk about the advertising, which Yelp then refused to remove. If you are feeling like you need to Yelp about us, of course we welcome all feedback, good or bad, and there is a page for us. But most of our clients are businesses, and the executives typically don’t spend much time on Yelp. What they do instead is talk to their other colleagues and refer us.
Most of our accounts were brought in through word-of-mouth advertising. Only the best companies can thrive with this kind of advertising. We embrace the idea of local relationships and knowing all our customers personally. There isn’t one person who we work with that the owner doesn’t know personally. You cannot get that kind of Aloha on social media, and this is why we eschew it.
We do not believe in having specific policies to address complaints because each situation is unique. What we do embody is the Spirit of Aloha. We are all on this island together, and we want to be able to live, work and play knowing our neighbors trust us and value our relationships.
If something isn’t right, let us know. We will make it right. Whether it is replacing the product, refunding the purchase price or issuing a service credit, we want you to trust in our company and know that doing the right thing is important to us. We can’t always be perfect, and mistakes happen, but one thing you can count on is we will always strive to make it right when things don’t go as planned, whether it’s on our end or yours.
